    50 50 Bar in more than one way!

    Hello,

    Does this bar look strange to you, non comb Honour Cross, EK 2 with standard ribbon alot of years in the Heer and no other medals.

    I'm ignorant on all aspects with bars really, I did think this was OK but on thinking about it, I'm in two minds of negative thought.

    The Oakleaf cluster ? I'm thinking fake.

    My qustion is would he have had a non combat ribbon to the EK in reality and is this bar plausible. I'll try to do some cut down pic's in the morninng and of the rear of the bar.

    I'll show this for now.

    Entirely plausible.

    I couldn't say if the "40" wreath device IS original or not, but the rest of the bar certainly fits with the 99.99% of recipients of that class of long service--

    ancient, long serving Beamten, senior NCOs to field grade ranks.

    regular officers, with a literal handful of examples and a few retreads, all retired before they had that long in. Look at von Rundstedt as an almost unique example.

    It appears that you also have the "Holy Grail of Hindenburg Crosses" there... an actual BRONZE one from... well... we'll see from the reverse, won't we?

    As far as NONcombatant Hindenburg with "combatant" EK... there should be an old thread in here on the "Three types of EKs" and though maybe that was far enough back that the scans have gone poof, the text remains.

    Possible? Oh yes.

      It's a G&S if that means anything, I didn't realise there was a desirable maker of these.

            a very beautiful bar - most of these "Generel"-bars have the Hindenburg cross from Godet&Sohn.

                  Which cross maker is the Holy Grail maker then ?

                  I've a few of these crosses in boxes, heres a selection the r. M And G3 who on earth are these makers?

                  It's probably nothing special but I like the one with Reichsverband on it, thats a lovely mint cross with a sheen to it, where the others are matt and dull.

                  Thanks for posting those bars, mine is a very humble little effort compared to yours, I love them , Cheers for that WNickel.

                            Not the MAKER... the MATERIAL, 99.999999999% of Hindenburg crosses are steel with some sort of bronze finish. ACTUAL bronze ones are a real treat!

                              I'm with you now, it was silly o'clock in the morning my fault . You are correct it is non magnetic !!!! All the others are magnetic.

                              Thanks Rick I wasn't even aware of that fact .

                              Do you know these makers at all or where there is a list of makers marks the r.M looking one could be a miss stamp of HM and the G3 , I can't seem to find anything where either.
