    Cased Itsy Bitsy 1870

    I have some more 1870 material to look at. Starting small and working up - what do you think of this? Also what is it worth as I may put this on the market. Although you cannot tell from the photo's - the details of the cross appear to be engraved into the cross. Best Regards, Richard

          Richard,

          It looks to be a private purchase lapel pin for wear on civilian clothes. The 25 year oaks suggest that this lapel set is from the Jubilee period of 1895-6 or a little bit later. It looks to be a neat enamelled example that was available during that festive time of national pride.

          I would love to add it to my collection should you decide to sell it.

              That is a great 1870 mini. I agree with Tony. This is a post 1895
              set up.

              Here is a slightly different version of this miniature decoration.
