WWI Sword, Etched Cavalry Group. Information Please

    Hello Imperial guy's:

This is a nice WWI vintage or earlier Sword with an acid etched cavalry charge

on one side and a unit inscription on the other. King Humbert Of Italy, etc.

Putting this up so I can gather information on this particular group. I am assuming this was a donated outfit prior to WWI. Perhaps someone can add to this or fill in more information. Double Eickhorn Mark. She is a real looker!!

Although not for sale, any ideas on value for insurance,?? or in case I croak and the wife wants to sell it.
    Thanks, Rich

          Hi Rich,
This would be a M89 ("Model 1889") sword, obviously offered to a man of the Prussian 13th Hussars Regiment - or rather "Husaren Regiment König Umberto von Italien (1. Kurhessisches) Nr. 13".

You can see a couple of those chaps here :

          Lovely sword !
          Salutations,
          Jerome
