Anyway, I have no clue as to originality/authenticity and would much appreciate the help.

In the absence of a good MM pic, I'd say this is a good one. Looks like it's been recently cleaned/polished though.

Hi,badge looks 100% ,well used and as stated ,cleaned but IMO contemporary piece. I know the dealer where this is from and he is 100%.

The badge is good, but as others have said it has been cleaned. That is not really a big deal to me. Nice piece.
