      Hi Rick,

I think it's grey. It 's an ugly bar Rick, isn't it....

I also think, that the long service medal for IX years is correct and the bar is worn before 1918......

....where are the big experts of german imperial orders?????

The most 'ugly' question is the combination of the red eagle and the oldenburgischen Verdienstorden - last was awarded in 1906 (ca. 300 times) and most of the wearer were young Leutnants and Oberleutnants. None of this officers could get the red eagle before 1918, dto. wearers from other countries. A paymaster got the crown order and not the red eagle - and so it's a small rest....

...and there exists a Postdirektor named Oemisch who had the red eagle 4. class, the oldenburg Ritter 2.class without swords and the Landwehr-DA 2. class. I think he was an NCO before.
