What Bavarian MVK is this?

Is this type MVK3 real ? I have reviewed Claudio’s collection, PM 'ed him as well and re-read some other threads and I saw no mention or pics of this style MVK3 with enamel. If this piece is good did the other MVKs, Silver and Gold have a non-enameled counterparts?

The first pic you show is a Bayrische Militärverdienstkreuz 3. Klasse mit Schwertern, 3rd issue, very likely made of a copper alloy. The second cross could be a MVK 1st class (1st class golden gilting with enamelled medallion, 2nd class silver gilting with enamelled medallion and 3rd class copper alloy or a later construction made of zinc - 4th issue -). However, I don't like the gilting of the cross you show, since it looks like a 3rd class which was improved by enamelling the medallion.

The first pic of the MVK3 was for comparison to the MVK with a question mark superimposed on it. So you think that this may be an MVK1 with a bad or worn away gilting?

Correct, John, it would be a 1st class MVK, if it is gilted. However, I don't like the colour of the gilting... it looks to much copperish as a 3rd class.

That small and fuzzy it could be an MVK2X with badly worn silver all but removed too. Can't say from the poor scan.

Whatever it is, I'd pass on the deplorable condition.
