Great stein, screw off fuse, foot artillery and the Ulm Sparrow thumb lift. All good value points. Apart from the chip, this is one nice stein.

I have often wondered if the Sparrow is a native bird of this part of Germany even though I know they come from England hence why we have them here in New Zealand but it is only on steins from this part of Germany that they are given a special status of pride just like we value our Kiwis here in N.Z.

Steins are a very under-rated area of Militaria collecting these days and so many of them now over 100 years old. Real piece of history and I wonder if this guy might sadly have meet his fate in WW1 as so many did.
