what might that be on that ribbon bar?

    Hi Imperials,

Here I show You a bar from the collection of a friend. This Prussian WW1-Officer had a nice array of awards. But what the hell shall be ribbon No.3??? A Prussian war ribbon with swords and oakleaves?
Prussians had the oakleave just for the plm and for the 2nd and higher classes of the REO.
To wear a higher Order as “Kleindekoration” on the ribbon bar like the Austrians was not a Prussian use. Otherwise this Officer was for sure not senior enough to have a REO2

So what might that ribbon 3 be? (Backing is red)

    Best regards

    Daniel

    Huh!!!

That's a Godet ÖM3K wreath (improperly enamelled green)...

Is that a Hamburg Hanseatic in front of the Bremen? No 1897 but a Long Service 91920) makes me think/hope this is Reichsheer... but let me know Hamburg or Hesse, please before I go mad scanning the Rang Listen.

      Only Rick with a response???

      Hi Rick,

it is Hessen. My best idea about no. 3 is a HEK3X with the oakleaves (created somewhere inthe 20ies) improperly worn on the Prussian war ribbon.

      Best regards

      Daniel

        Not Reichsheer in 1924!

You must be correct-- from the mounting order, somebody incorrectly got a PRINCIPALITY of Hohenzollern award and thought it changed the identical peace ribbon for the PRUSSIAN version war ribbon by mistake.
