Here we have Infanterist R. Weber, Regimental Staff of Bavarian Infantry Regiment 28 (12th Bavarian Infantry Division) in the midst of terrible fighting north of Focsani to the River Sereth in Rumania. Sun-rise or -set dazzling from behind him.

This is my friend Karin's grandfather, Jonny Roden, called up at age 45 to go serve as a linesman with Armeefernsprech Abteilung 25, also Rumania, 1917.

For those of you who are Monty Python fans, Jonny was indeed the Very First

    (all say it together now)

        Potential road rage perpetrator

Despite the poor quality of this image, a maniacal gleam can be seen in the eyes of Jäger Haberland of 1. Radfahrer-Kompagnie Jäger-Bataillon 9.

          Another Bavarian

Somehow his boots just don't seem right for the Tour de France.

            Daniel,

They just abolished the Fahrrahdtruppen in the Swiss army... to bad, because they were very effective as light infantry and very well trained, especially phisically. Did not the Japanese army used a lot bikes during the early stages of their campaigns achieving great success, or at least I think to have read it somewhere... Therefore, they all have my respect, the Fahrradtruppen.

            Ciao,

            Claudio
