    EKII crown variation

I have noticed variations in the crowns of the two 1914 EKIIs that I possess. I will try and post a pic later. But I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on the variation I have seen, is it just down to differences with manufacturers dies? Or are there other reasons. Any comments appreciated.

You guessed it. Even from the same manufacturer there are variations in crown, date, etc. Apparently some makers bought cores from other companies. Here's a random sampling of crown front and rear from different crosses. Hopefully this will be covered in the 1914 EK article.

Thanks Tom, great picture illustrates the point perfectly.

Just out of curiosity could you post which maker mark, if any, apply to each set of crowns? I would like to compare. Thanks in advance.
