What's on the FRONT?

I've seen this sort of stretchy UNIFORM color material before on ribbon bars, used as backing on bullion breast eagles, etc.

Appears to be glued down, but even that is not unknown for mid-WW2 bars... if you have the correct stiff "crackly" glue and not rubbery modern stuff.

Well, the least I can say I don't like it... Jens, what a f... is the second ribbon... Furthermore is completely uncorrect that all the Austrian ribbons are placed after the lonely (very strange!) long service medal. At this time they should have considered as German awards and placed before the EZ f. Frontkämpfer...

I wouldn't like to have it in my collection IMHO...
