Austrian War Medal Female recipient

I/wife bought this a couple of months ago because the wife said I didn't have a pretty ribbon like this,Jo bought it and got it for 18 pounds.

Can you settle a little thing between Jo and I;what do you think about the price she got it for and a ribbon of the female style is it uncommon.

I'd say Jo did quite well indeed. Military awards to women have never, until recently, gotten the recognition for rarity that they deserve.

This would have been even better with the award document!

We've got quite a few threads in the back pages on women's awards... type in "women" in the search box at the bottom of this forum and see what comes up. As another "plus," many of the WW1 awards given to women were the noncombatant forms... all of which were already much scarcer than their combatant equivalents. And, of course, for COMBAT awards to women... even MORE unusual!

Thats the first medal I've bought,of course Marcus is trying to claim some credit for it now.

I'll be keeping an evil eye on what he buys in the future,I do wish he'd listen to me more.
