Order of the Zahringen Lion, Baden

    Hallo.
I need help with value of a medal.
I would like to post an attachment... but how can I???

The medal is a Knights 1st Class, Order of the Zahringen Lion, Baden.

It is gold, 40x40mm, without swords or oakleaves.
    I haven't got any ribbon...

It is in great condition, I'd like to let you see...

    Kind Regards

Here are the Lion Knight photos I uploaded for cosmic.
Is this a Lion Knight 2nd class without swords? What type of crystals are those on the arms?
    That's a real beauty, I'm envious! Ammersee

        Knight FIRST Class.
GOLD and green glass. Red enamel the other side.
I read that there're silver foils underneath the glass to make the glass shine more...

        The castle is hand-painted.

        Do you like it?

        Help me with value!

        Thanks

Here is one for sale.. http://www.derrittmeister.com/orders2.htm

But that just say how much they want really, not what its worth. Its always hard to set a price on such things.

No. Der Fritzmeister has a bad reputation here at best. The item on his site is a consignment item. So he's got at least 30% on it for himself. If it's cash you want, put it on eBay and see what you get. Yours is a nice item. I prefer the sworded pieces but this is a top conditioned piece so let the market tell you.

Well, it's not cash I want!

The medal is not mine and the possessor asked me to help her to find out how much is it worth!

I don't know whether she's going to sell it, I suppose that it depends on the value...
She's on holiday now and I want to relate her when she's back.

You know, in my family there's a great passion for numismatics, but the value of coins is always better defined...
My uncle's got an extremely rare italian coin. He exactly knows the value of it, but I'm sure he's never going to sell it!!

I can assure you there's nothing wrong with anyone selling their items. This is a site for collectors so someone who doesn't want something is just making someone else very happy. And, no one wants to get less than they should for an item and it's difficult to know what everything is worth. Good to ask.

I do like it, but that does not look like the genuine gold type to me. Is it actual gold on that one?
