I just got this 1870 and I like it a lot. it seems good from what I have read/pic I have looked at. I really like the way the ring was repaired (I usually don't like any sort of repair). But upon recieving it I notice what seems like more repair to me. I suspect the whole cross was apart at one time. I read that the gray colored solder is "cold soldering" and is not a proper silver solder. There is one section of the frame where there is a thick amount of this material instead of just the thin solder line between frame pieces. I would love to hear what you all think.
