If it gets less than 1500 Euros, I'll be surprised.

        Easily over 2K. Rare-rare-rare.

There was one up on ebay about 4 months ago. I thought I saved details, but I guess not. It was over 1k but I don't think it passed 2k.

About 2 years ago, one went for 800- but I'm not sure if it was authentic.

These things are made of the highest quality hand-painted porcelain, with the owner's name and that of his presenting comrades painted on as well. They were normally given to commemorate the completion of 3 years service and passing on to the reserves.

The photos on eBay do not do the krug justice.

Here's another similar one, to show the fine finishing.

The few I have seen have all been to the Brunswick totenkopf regiments............not the Prussian ones.

The ones with books underneath were for students.............nothing to do with the military at all.

The Braunschweigers seem to have really sadistic-looking grins............

....and the owner. I was lucky enough to get this one from a direct descendant of the original owner.......another eBay find.

I just saw this piece on ebay:
                              http://cgi.ebay.de/Bierkrug-von-Husa...QQcmdZViewItem

Robin, you said earlier in this thread you had never seen a prussian version before. Would this mean that the piece on ebay is a fake, or a really rare version?
I must say this piece doesnt have the same old feeling as that other brunswick one had.

                              Cool piece though.

                              Cheers,
                              David
