Nope. The MK2 always points to Inf Rgt 21 of course, but I find nobody that matches from my 1913 Militärhandbuch, or comparing officers in the ERL who were NOT in the regiment in 1913.

I even have the Inf Rgt 21 WW1 regimental history, which has among the WORST photos I have ever seen and so is "useless" for officer IDs.

Also, I have been busy tracking down the owners of bars who are NOT already known... with still secret success.

Sure, NOW I remember THAT group

Lot 63, Kube Auction 56, 8 March 1986, Ronnie was President of the World, the Evil Empire was ... Still Evil... and there were Bad Men With Guns on that big ugly Wall dividing Berlin...

when this went for DM 1,650

(that's OK, kids, it's not like that was "real money," back then! )

                Ricky don' split no groups!!!

                , huh?

Now, where did THAT come from, sez you?

Why, from the Unsold Lots of...

Kube Auction 46/47 26 May 1984, yup, TWO YEARS EARLIER, when, and I quote the catalog in full the document above was listed as-- in its entirety:

                "Mecklenburg-Schwerin: Verleihungs-Urkunde Friedrich-Franz Kreuz 1914, faks. Unterschrift 1916" PERIOD.

And it has lived at Ricky's house since arriving in July 1984.

                  I know, I know, You're thinking...

                  "A Landwehr Regiment? Bo-ring!"

                  Not. Yoooooooou'll seee

Wilhelm Edenhofer, born 1864, served in the Bavarian army from 1883.

                  Sekondelieutenant 10.7.85
                  Premierleutnant 8.2.94
                  Hauptmann 24.10.00
                  Major 7.3.09
                  Oberstleutnant 25.10.13
                  Oberst 16 March 1916
                  charakterisiert Generalmajor aD

and absolutely NO connection with Bavarian Infantry Regiment 21! Apparently the Duke was in the area, popped in, had a schnapps or a ceegar, and presented Colonel Edenhofer with that nice gold cross on the pale blue, yellow, and red ribbon as a little thank you gift.

                  BUT

                  Edenhofer commanded

Bavarian Landwehr Infantry Regiment 1 from 2 August 1914 to 16 January 1917, then

Bavarian Infantry Regiment 30 16 January 1917 to 11 January 1918, and finally

Bavarian 21st Infantry Brigade 11 January to 5 October 1918.

Annnddddd... that li'l ol "boring" Landwehr regiment he commanded all that time?

                  .....

I found the wearer at the same way when I bought the bar 10 years ago. But I had to search several month.......

Let's see what I can do for you....for the rainy days....
