I have a EK1 , W.W. I. It is more solid & thicker than others I have seen and owned but this one I purchased in the 60's for $5 bucks. I think it's a commercial one made in late fifties. I kept it for comparrison. I do not like to throw away any fakes or repos as I need them for comparing future items. Anyway they will not leave my collection. Question: can anybody give some info on this item, maker ,what type of metal its made from? Thanks in advance.

An excellent piece for $5!
I know Majorpayne said it could be a 57er, it could very well be, I have never actually seen a 57 1914 EK1. I know that I have seen a lot of repros absolutely identical to this one on German Ebay, so I tend to think this is a repro. Most of them are flat but I have seen a few vaulted ones. In any case, a nice piece.
If anyone has picture of 57-issue 1914 EK, please post it.

Don't care, for 5 $ it is a nice find, for example for a re-enactors jacket:Attached Files
