I've just acquired a M1910 Bavarian Leutnant's field grey tunic and need some advice. The tunic has an EK II ribbon in the second button-hole, and also loops for a two place ribbon bar. Unfortunately my knowledge of tunics and helmets waaaay outweighs my knowledge of Imperial awards. Fortunately, however, I'm a member of this forum where there seems to be a lot a ribbon bar enthusiasts around. My question is: which ribbons would be best to mount on the loops? The tunic is for the 2nd Bavarian Infantry, and the period I'm looking at is 1915-16 ( It's being displayed with a Bavarian officer's Pickelhaube with the 1914 type plate, and also a leather Bavarian officer's field belt. ) So basically I'm asking which awards would be common for a junior infantry officer of that period. Many thanks in advance, best regards, Paul.

Always measure the loops... millimeters from the outside:
If there is an EK from the buttonhole, chances are there was a Bavarian MVO/MVK on top of it. So what was on the chest loops was probably an "Old Style" single big ribbon bar for the 1911-12 version of the Bavarian Army Jubilee Medal.

Loop Measurement
Hi Rick, sorry it's taken so long to respond to your post, but I,ve been apart from my new tunic for a while -not to worry, I've had counselling...! The medal loops, measured from the outside, are 26mm across, so is this likelly to be for a two piece bar or one of the old style bars you mentioned? Thaks in advance, Paul.
