    Again - Generals to identify

Let's see if Rick is good with the Prussians too.
Okay, these shouldn't be too hard to identify, the names are written under the photos, they were prussians and they are on the first pages of an album from a soldier (musician) from Prussian Infantry Regiment 2 in the Reichswehr.
    Easy job Rick ?

    That's the whole page:

Here is the "heavy metal" general:

    And the other one:

As always, thanks in advance and enjoy the photos.

    Robert

BTW: I got these albums (two) today from a collector-friend. Extremely nice photos of that musician of the regimental band, saw service from 1924 - 1936. Then he joined the SS, later in the SD and in 1939 turns up in two uniforms, SD and army officer with GFP-devices (secret field police). With the albums there came also a group of documents, still have to sort and sight all the material.

      Haenicke

      Robert,

I am pretty certain the second general is the later General der Infanterie z.V. and Knight's Cross holder Siegfried Haenicke. Awarded the PLM as a Hauptmann on the 14th of June 1918 as the commander of II./I.R. 150. Born 08 Sep 1878, died 19 Feb 1946 as a Soviet POW. Commanded I.R. 2 from 01 Nov 1930 - 30 Sep 1932.

      Generalmajor von Platen above commanded I.R. 2 from 01 Dec 1925 - 01 Jan 1928.

      Regards
      Glenn

Thanks for sharing those Robert-- the medal bar, ah!!!

Notice the DAMAGED Pour le Merite still being proudly worn by Haenicke!

        Thanks, Glenn for that info!

          Ribbons

Here are his ribbons on an earlier photograph.

According to the 1924 Rangliste he had some 24 different awards and decorations.

                  Reichsheer

                  Brian,

I think Robert mentioned that these photographs were from a musician of Infantry Regiment 2 of the Reichsheer between the wars. These two gentlemen were regimental commanders in the late twenties, early thirties. XVIII Corps had long ceased to exist by this time.

Glenn is right. That two albums start in 1924. No photos from the time before, very sorry.

This is the very first photo in the album:

He was the bataillions Tambour later and his whole career in the army was as a musician.
However there is a little mystery in his career between 1936 and 1945. It seems that he joined the party and the SS. Then he probably was a civil policeman, like federal investigation. In 1939 he is wearing a SD-uniform and after 1940 he was an army-official in the secret field-police GFP in the rank of a captain.

                      Kind regards
                      Robert

                        Thanks. I'm going nuts trying to find pictures to fit this time frame;

                        22 Apr 1912:

                        24 Sep 1914:
                        Acting Commander Guards Cavalry Division
                        01 Dec 1914:
                        Commander Leibhusaren Brigade

                        03 May 1915:
                        Commander 3rd Cavalry Division

                        09 Aug 1916:
                        Commander 2nd Cavalry Division

                        14 May 1917:
                        Commander 11th Infantry Division

                        23 Jun 1918:
Acting Commanding General XVII Army Corps

                        27 Aug 1918:
