    Opinions on EK1 1914

    Hi Guys

I would appreaciate your input and comments regarding this EK. I ask mainly due to the thin needle pin on the rear, as I haven't seen many like this.

The front and rear frames are much more silver looking in real life than these images portray, but currently dont have better images to show.

There is no maker mark on the cross.

Looks OK to me. I think this might be a cross made as a 1930s
replacement piece. It has that TR style about it. I think if you
measure it, the size will be comparable to a 1939 cross.

          Thank you for your comments.

The cross is indeed very much in the third reich style, which along with the thin needle pin put a few doubts in my mind.

It is very similar in size to my EK2 39 mm24 and is actualy a little larger and has wider arms than my Zimmerman mm20 EK1 39.

If it's a 30's replacement piece, that is still fine with me.

There's alot of variety in these 1914 crosses, which makes them so interesting. I have at least one 1914 EK2 which has wide frame flanges, much wider than most 1914 EK2's. Unfortunatley this cross is unmarked and i don't know the maker.

Sometimes it's the mystery of the unknown maker that draws us to a piece like this.

              That's a realy nice example.
