Hey everybody - if you don't know by now the update at Detlev's with Rick's collection is on now as tomorrow is a holiday. Traffic is light based on how quickly I got in.

Yep, there seems to be no traffic at all, I got in right away. Got me a nice Saxon buckle with tab, probably from Stogieman's stash too... Drooled on all the St Henry awards, way out of my range.

Yep a very sad day for Rick .........
.......... but I'm smiling . I got on to the site in less than 2 minutes, most unusual?? The real upside of this was that I was able to get the "Lot to Unteroffizier Raabe in Pio.Btl.22".
Oh well Rick, at least I can assure you that the set has gone to a good home and will not be sold on.

To tell you the truth I would have preferred buying directly from Rick. It would have been more interesting for both of us, seller and collector... no middleman (15% more profit for the seller 15% less expensive for the buyer). I can also understand that on the other hand that Rick wanted to sell quickly. It is for sure easier to sell everything at once and get paid from a reliable dealer. However, it's a really a sad thing seeing such a great collection being separated in small lots.
I have to say that I couldn't get anything... the problems with Detlev's update are really aggravating... I loose a lot of precious time browsing on his website. I can't allow myself to try connecting his website during 1-2 hours at work only to get a slim chance to purchase some items. Fortunately I can find most of my items elsewhere...
