    Looks good to me
I like the case with the detailed EK1 on the lid, early war, private purschase piece, and yes these did come unmarked.

It looks to be a 1 piece cross that has been repainted at some
      point in it's life.

        Hi,

Yes, probably a one-piece. I have never seen one with these particular core details maker marked. Paintwork looks period to me. Case looks like a nice one as well, apart from the worn areas on the lid.

Something is not quite right with the hinge and pin though imo - the pin does not fit in the hinge correctly and imo may be a replacement.

        Regards
        Mike

              Radar

Something on my radar just doesn't like this particular cross. I'm not saying it is not a period piece, just that I don't feel comfortable with this piece. The pin and hinge are not my favorite. Maybe it is just me.

You probably won't like this one either because I think it is his twin except for the reverse setup. The pin appears to be very close but the hinge says 1920s-30s. Not a magnetic bit to it.
                Thoughts?

I don't think it's the twin to yours Don. The numerals on yours look very very early and his the later block style numerals. The numerals on yours Don is of the most early '14 crosses, in style. Very much like the S-W (but not the S-W). The numerals on yours Don is similar in what I have encountered on a cross awarded in 1914.
