Grand Gross of Iron Cross 1914

Hi there ALL, I'm a new member and really don't know how to use this site properly. I hope this works.

Do any of you know the existence of any of the above crosses in existence?

I have seen one and been offered one ?(be it a museum copy). In a broad black case, velvet type lining inside with cut out to fit the cross. The cross dimensions meet all specifications re: V.E.Bowen's book on the subject.
3 piece silver frame construction magnetic centre.

Any suggestions on what to look out for?

The value of such item? ...... It is very well made.

Does anyone have V.E.Bowen's book "The Prussian & German Iron Cross" they want to sell?

Hope someone out there can help.

    Cheers.

I'll move this to a more appropriate Forum, i.e. "Imperial."

Here are two threads you will want to look at for great pics of legitimate jeweler's samples.

I don't think the definition jeweler's would be correct, the jeweler doesn't have the ability to strike silver frames not mentioning the iron core (I don't know if the parts were widely available for jewelers to buy and assemble), the one I have is Godet marked, I would think that the Grand crosses were made by authorized awards manufactures, not jewelers down street were cranking out the GS's....
