    1813 iron cross

    Hi !

I visited a guy who likes surrounding himself with old things. He`s got everything there, starting with old breweries` bottles through military things to furniture.
He showed me an iron cross 1813. I cannot say it is a 100% original, but both the guy and the thing looks "good" to me. the cross is in bad condition ie. the 2 silver sides have split apart and the black inside is a bit worn e.g. the whole date 1813 is not visible, onl 181 is there.

How much should I pay him for the cross assuming it is original and not to "get burnt"?

    Thanks,

    Matt

That's a really hard question to answer without seeing pictures.
I paid 1200 Euro for one 2 years ago.
BE CAREFULL There are a lot more fakes then there are originals.

      Matt,
I would seriously post photos before even thinking about taking that kinda leap. Old beer bottles is one thing, an authentic 1813 EK is quite another. Be skeptical.

        Thanks guys.
Marc, I am taking a fellow "pro" to this guy today and I`ll tell you the result after.
