Another medal I can't name...

Hi all,

Again I've found a medal that I'm curious about and I'm not sure if I'm thinking along the right lines. It appears to be in pretty poor condition. Recently I asked about a whole host of imperial orders one of which was the Oldenburg house order of Peter Fredrich Louis (ie the cross). The medal shown below has some of the same features to me. Is it related or am I tying myself in knots?

I think it's the silver medal of the hohenzollern house order (Fürstentum Hohenzollern).

Right, it is the Silberne Verdienstmedaille from Hohenzollern. It was issued with swords too. Hard to tell if this one had the swords. Price without ring/swords maybe about 80 Euros...

Vadim: yeah its on ebay. Had you seen it or did you just notice the pic source?? If you've found it you must have spent some serious time looking!!! Mind you, you spend half your time bidding on my auctions so it doesn't suprise me!!!

No, no serious time needed, it comes right up if you do a search for "german medal"
I remembered seeing it after you posted it here, I had no idea what it was either.
