First fleamarket this year, lucky find

Well, that has been the first fleamarket I've been this year. I bought about 100 postcards, old ones of course, from towns in germany, cause they are pretty good to sell on Ebay.
Amongst them there are a few photographs also, some to keep, some to sell, but when I returned home with my "treasures" I had a closer look on that fieldpost card:

Pretty stamp from the Kommando des Alpenkorps, send in 1916.

Now I looked at the back and found a real surprise.

That is the signature of a Generalleutnant and commander of the Alpenkorps, which was Generalleutnant Krafft von Dellmensingen at that time.
Now it seems that he only signed with the name Krafft or von Krafft cause it looks like a little "v" in front of Krafft.
Although I'm pretty sure about the signature, I would like some confirmation from the real imperial specialists, if possible.
The postcard was a bargain anyhow, cause I paid approximately 1 Dollar / each.

Next question about another photo I got today:

I know he is aviation, but is it a Flieger or a Luftschiffer ?

    And yet another one:

Austria, yes, is he a Hussar ? Any interesting medals ?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards
    Robert

    General Staff

    Robert,

the Austro-Hungarian Hauptmann is a wearing the dress uniform of a general staff officer attached to the Royal Hungarian Landwehr (Honvéd). The tunic was dark green with red piping and laced in gold. The white plume of his Hungarian pattern general staff Shako can just be seen.

    Regards
    Glenn

      Robert,

Center photo is FEA 8 (Flieger-Ersatz-Abtielung) wearing a regulation Flieger M15 Bluse. Here is a little blurb on Flieger straps: http://www.kaisersbunker.com/flieger/f30.htm and here is one on Luftschifftruppen straps. http://www.kaisersbunker.com/flieger/f13.htm

Yes, Robert, those guys with paragraph long names usually signed that way.

I have an award document from Friedrich Freiherr Kress von Kressenstein he signed "Frh v Kress"

        and other similar signatures.

The Austrian is wearing the 1898 Military Jubilee Medal, so taken 1899-1908. Quite odd that he has two foreign Orders (not quite sure because of blur) and not so much as a Signum laudis from his own country! Rick

That's QUITE an unusual wedding pose, by the way!

          Wedding shot!

Sure looks like a Saxon Albert Order, Knight's Cross 2, no swords, in second place to me!

            Thanks a lot

Thank You all for the input.
Now I know the difference in shoulder-boards from Flieger and Luftschiffer, great website and very educational, Tony, thanks.

Also for the info about the hungarian officer, didn't know that before, well, the austrian-hungarians were never my subject, but they had beautiful uniforms.

There is a new identification I post in a new thread.

            Kind regards
            Robert
