        Eric, I'll bet the frame isn't split on this one. What you see is the backplate which is not as concave as the main body of the cross. The two screws are mounted on the body of the cross and fit through the backplate which is then held in place by the two nuts. Fred

          Hey there Fred

          I've gotta stay steadfast on this one. Either the frames are split or there is solder between the two frames. This happens all the time to guys who are trying to enhance their badges by making a fancy 'variant' out of a perfectly good EK1.

          Why in the hell would the two screw posts be slotted on the ends? Because you were using a Dremel-type tool to install the screws? Maybe!

                Very Nice! I see what you mean, even though I must admit that I have never seen the version on the right. I'm not an iron cross expert so my not having seen something is not a negative. Fred
