    Imperial 127th Inf Reg

    Hi
Can anyone tell me about the history of the Imperial German 127th Infantry Regiment in WW1 ? I have an Erfert Luger that is marked to the 127th Regiment 2nd Machine gun Company and I would love to know about the history of this unit. Thanks

    Hello Joe.
The 9. Wuettembergisches Infanterie Regiment Nr. 127 was mainly garrisoned in Ulm prior to WW I .
A quick scrutiny of the "Ehren-Rangliste des ehemaligen Deutschen Heeres" indicates that this regiment appears to have seen action on the Western Front throughout the war based on the locales of death of officers who died during that conflict.
The British Handbook on German Forces in the Field of November 1918 lists the regiment to be part of the 242. Division together with the 475 . and 476. Inf. Regt.'s. All Wuettemberg formations.
I hope the above information is of some help.
