Hi everybody,
seeing the forum is getting more and more into discussing items of uniforms as well, I just thought to tell you that I just got colour copies of a 1831-dated book about the dress of miners employed in state-owned mines in the Kindom of Saxony. These had dress uniforms that are absolutely splendid, with exquisite variances according to rank, and lots of different beautyful belt buckles (my pet subject). I know this is a bit out of the way, but does anybody out there have period regulations, pictures or books about the pre-1918 non-military (forestry, court officials, miners etc.)? All of those had great uniforms, and all different according to the state. Anybody interested in that subject? Give a shout.
Best wishes, Schlepp
