What is this? Prinzen Naval Adjutants Badge? You tell me!

Guys,
I don't know if this is an official award or a sweetheart piece. In any case, it came with the two Prinzen pieces I posted earlier (Johanniter & EK 1). It s a naval oriented item made of fire gilded
silver and measures 31mm. Any opinions?

Just a shot in the dark: the style is somewhat similar to some earlier Prussian adjutant's badges. The crown on this one suggests the W.W.I period. However, the size is awfully small for an official piece. (How's that for climbing on the fence?) Anyway, I'd lean toward something a bit more significant than a sweetheart item until someone can positively prove otherwise.
