Would someone be able to tell me why some imperial iron cross's come in a maroon, deep red box's instead of black please, also is the navy iron cross different to the army.

Usually a maroon case is a private purchase type with the standard black being an award case.A "navy" cross is no different to an "army" cross,they are one and the same...an Iron Cross.
