    Freikorps or War Vets Assoc.?

Here is a 41mm cross that is made of solid bronze with blue and yellow enameling. The lion head is reminiscent of the Feldherrnhalle statue and affixed to cross with two prongs.. Back is marked 'Deschler u. Sohn Mu"nchen 9'.

Can't prove it, but I'd put my money on this being a "karneval" medal. The style is fairly typical of the genre, particularly in the somewhat gaudy and use of enamel. Also, for some reason the Third Reich ones went against the grain and almost always escaped the use of the swastika, right up until the 1940s when the carnivals (or at least the medals) apparently went on a wartime hiatus.
