    Chaplain Wound Badge??

    Hey Guys,
I found a badge that I bought about 10 years ago but I'm not sure what the scoop is on it. It looks to be a cut out black wound badge with the center replaced with a cross. It is magnetic. Some people have told me that this is a fantasy piece but I found it listed in an old Nimmergut catalog (1978). What gives?

    Hello,
Those badges are no good. There is an article about them in the Hammelman Wound Badge book.

They were actually made from left over WWII era wound badges. Keep it as a conversation piece.
    Regards,
    Jody

From what I understand, there is a religious shrine in Germany that sold these for a small donation. Postwar Germany left many badge makers with few customers. The dies were altered and the Christian Cross was made with the old wound badge dies. They are a great curiousity pieces. Clever and enterprising people, those Germans.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.
