Neck Order

Hello,
Check out a photo in your reference books that have a photo of the wedding of SA Gruppenfuhrer Karl Ernst. Can anyone make out the neck order he's wearing and what is the breast badge I often see Goring wearing? All my books have horribly fuzzy photo's.

I vaguely recall that Ernst photo and the medal may have been an award of the freikorps Detachement von Randow (a black enamel maltese cross). However, I may be way off, and would have to see it again to be sure.

Goring wore a badge in the late 1920s or early '30s that puzzled me for ages. I finally identified it as the "Sportkranz" of the R.K.L. (Ring der nationalen Kraftfahrt- und Luftfahrtbewegung). The badge came in a silver and a gold class, and I can't imagine Goring – ace that he was – having anything other than the gold.

I think the photo he is referring to is on pg. 115 of George Bruces' book The Nazis.
The badge Histeria mentioned is being worn by Goering on his right pocket. The breast star is fuzzy but almost looks like a really large version of the "Front soldiers' honorbadge/Hamburg" (which it obviously is not).
Ernst's medal has a crown and looks a bit like a PLM, but is much larger and with a much rounder centre. I'll see if I can scan the photo and perhaps someone more technologically advanced than myself could post it.

Your correct about the book. It's the Nazis by Mr Bruce. Suprised anyone has it, as it come out in the early seventies (when I bought it new). Hope you can get a scan.
