Scifi Dust Bunnies: Extreme Closeups of Award Centers

Hannibal asked for a closeup of the center disk of my WW1 Saxe Ernestine House Order-Knight 2nd with Swords, which got me thinking about doing really closeup (Not enormous SCAN sizes, PUHLEEZ!!!) scans of other awards.

Here is the silver-gilt SEHO center. The outer laurel wreath is a separate ring over both the obverse and reverse "hubcap" center disks, because the awards with swords have laurel wreaths and the peacetime awards use oakleaves. I suppose this was cheaper than making two sets of dies for the entire hubcaps.

Here is the hand-painted red eagle on porcelain of a final pebbled arms model Red Eagle Order 4th Class made by Wilm.

These are ALL hand painted, so there will be enormous variation. This may not look too great this big, but remember how small the originals are!

From the same Frackspange as the Red Eagle above, the weird Saxon War Merit Cross. Note the extremely fine detail on this, right down to microscopic Field Marshal shoulder board batons...

as well as ample evidence of why my dust allergy is always active!!!

                    Just for Rick Lundstrom!

Lest we be accused of posting massive, screen-bending scans, here's my FAVORITE dust bunny. Can you guess who this is?

Could you make that last one a little smaller?

Hey Werner-- you think I'm going back to the 1860s after stumbling into 1871? Nuh-uh!!! I'm staying on THIS side of 1897!!

Hi Werner, nice piece! The center even appears to be gold!
Really a nice and rare one!

                        Best regards
