    More EK's

Just some EK's to add to our reference images. Some notes:
    1. The iron printing plate in one of the photos was used to print the cardboard boxes that iron crosses were bulk packed in.
    2. The 1813 EK1 has 8 tiny wire loops on the back. Unfortunately, it may very well me a late 19th/early 20th century anniversary issue, but a very well done one with a lot of age.
    3. The vaulted 1813 EK1 mounted on the silver and oak plaque is a screwback with a bright polished gun-metal blue core.

Note the EK1 in a custom case made to hold the II Klass ribbon.

    1870 Wagner & 1870 mini on pin, 1870 prinzen EK2 w/prinzen 25th oakleaves, 1870 EK2 w/1914 spange and 25th oakleaves, cased KO EK1 in a red and green case. The screwback Lippe-Detmold cross has a French pocket-watch cover as a screw device.

Godet 1914, Godet 1870, 1813, 1939 vaulted small swaz, first issue 1957 on a wartime frame and pin. The two mini's were both made in New York City and are marked Linden 19 E. 14th St. NY!! (prior to 1917)

A parade mounted 1870 EK 2. (The mounting is so delicate I'm afraid to touch it!)

Very nice George! I'm running out of interesting EK's, but here are my remaining pics. The ribbon mounted on the card is an old souvenir of some sort. Sounds like an Epier sales pitch: "Taken From a Prussian Guard Machine Gun Sniper" (WOW!!) I promise to stop eating up more web space here.

Two minis (one 1870, one 1914). Although you can't see it here, the reverse of the '14 has all the features (crown, FW, oakleaves, and 1813) of the full-sized version.

                  Doug and George,
You are both quite lucky indeed to have such nice pieces. I can only be jealous and try to keep searching.

Just one more... I thought the detail on the crown on this screwback was pretty nice.

                      Doug,
I'm in awe, fantastic! I need to look at this Imperial stuff more often.

Okay, Doug, I'm outta here with a slightly vaulted 1914 EK 1 screwback with a waffled backing plate (see page 191 of "The Iron Time").

                        See you next time!
