--Ah, yes! I recognise this bar (no, not from a past life
). Detlev had this one up a few years back, (back when you could get something a day or two after the Friday update!).
--What struck me was the French Legion of Honor Knight's Cross. I mailed Detlev an inquiry as to the circumstances in which a German Officer would receive an award rom the enemy. I figured that maybe it had to do with a form of assistance regarding the Commune, but he simply replied that after the war, the award was probably given for diplomatic relations. Veeerrry interesting

--Anyway, I passed on the piece to hold out for a purely Prussian Bar of that period, and a good thing too as I believe within two weeks I nailed the centerpiece of my collection.
