Here is a medal of which I know very little:
It is a regimental centennial medal for the 1st Electoral Hessian Field Artillery Regiment No. 11. The obverse shows Kaiser Wilhelm II and has the makers mark "AWES". The reverse shows what I would guess is the regimental garrison. The inscription reads "ZUR.ERINNERG.A.D.HUNDERTJAHRFEIER.D.1.KURHESS.FELD ART.RGTS.No 11.CASSEL" and the dates 1813-1913. The medal is rather well-made, especially when compared to other regimental medals I've seen.
Dave
PS: sorry for the grainy scans. Are these particularly rare and/or desired? What sort of value do they have? Vernon's has some Electoral Hesse regimental commemoratives listed in the $300 range, but I find that hard to believe.
