    Identify Imperial Saber

    Hi All.

Please help identify the sword I recently picked up. It does not have a scabbard and appears to be nickel plated. It is also etched "In Treue Fest".

What type of sabre is it?
    What vintage?
    Any value?
    Here are the Pic's

Bavarian, almost certainly artillery, I have one virtually identical with a Bavarian artillery regt. etch. Never wired, hilt plastic composition like many Bavarian swords.

        Hi Cerick,

Although this is far from my area of interest, I agree that, based on the “In Treue Fest” inscription that your sword is Bavarian. Further, according to John Angola’s book Swords of Germany 1900-1945/Imperial Supplement by Gregory Douglas, the logo on your sword indicates that it was made Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie post 1883.

I hope that this information is helpful,
