St. Georg Mit Uns ?

Here is a mystery order that a coworker brought in today. It is 54mm wide and 97.5 mm tall, has a silver plated crown, red and white enamel and has "ST. GEORG MIT UNS" in the center on both sides. Looks like a private order to me. Can anyone add any more information? Thanks, Fred

In Bavaria there was (maybe still is) the Order of St. Georg. Prince Alfons of Bavaria may have been the commander of this order, since Der Rittmeister has for sale a field gray uniform of this order that belonged to him. This cross also looks very similar to some of the postwar German veteran medals for men who served at the Somme, Verdun, Flanders etc.
