    EK II 1914 on Non-Combatants single-bar

Another nice find. With original non-combatants ribbon. This cross/ribbon looks like it was removed from a big medal-bar. The cross and core are very thin with an interesting crown. Is that the so called "french crown"?

      Dear Majorpayne

I think your ek2 has a standard Prussian crown. I have attached scans from the book "The iron time", It shows the French crown on a 1914 ek2. There is also another example shown in the book "the Prussian and German iron cross" but I wasn't able to get a clear scan on it.

      Best regards

Very nice original EK featuring correct Prussian crown, with the rare original issue ribbon. Is the EK maker marked at all?

No, there is no makers mark. It is only a very thin cross.

                It is three piece, magnetic?

Although I do not collect medals as a rule, this was a steal at $60.00 . . . I could not resist it

A close up of what looks to be a maker mark on the reverse of the ring

David, your cross is marked "KO" which was the Royal Mint of Württemberg in Stuttgart (Königliches Münzamt, Abteilung Orden, Stuttgart).

Dez, yes, three piece and magnetic core.
