Mark on Honor 1914-18 ?

I recently purchased a Honor medal for 1914-18 fighters, and in the back have this type of mark :



What is it ? Manufacturer ? If so, which one ?

Is it RS or RES...looks like a small E betwee the RS at the bottom...?
Anyone know what the makers mark for Rudolf Schanes, Wein was? About the only other RS besides Rudolf Souval that came to mind...

Looks more like a deco-styled monogram PSL to me, which would likely be a Lüdenscheid maker.

That might become an interesting discussion. We never heard something about the makers of the Frontkaempfer-/Kriegsteilnehmerkreuze. There are for example many of them with "RV", a number and "Pforzheim" on the back etc.
Anyone know something about FKK maker marks?

Mine has a "B G" or "B 6" mark, does anyone know about this one?

My "black widow" one (für Hinterbliebene) has the letters "HKL", familiar?

This subject was approached about a year ago. i remember Detlev saying that he had a friend once who collected HKs for the makers' marks on the back-and he had over 100 at the time.
I have seen a lot of differnet ones-the most interesting being the Kriegsverband/Prorzheim ones.

I have it on the back of some day badges, the mark above plus the name in full.

mine Honor medal for 1914-18 fighters is marked 0.11
and the one without swords is A&S
also for the widows is a, vv in square
so while we one this subject,does anyone now the maker 0.11 ?

Colin: thanks for the info matching logo to a maker--

a lot of these Crosses seem to have been made by the sort of "Mom and Pop" makers who never got the big LDO contracts later on.

Here's something else to consider, along with the makers' marks:

every one of thes ethat I have ever owned has been made out of STEEL, with finished ranging from a cheap sort of brass wash to brown lacquer to nice brown shades.

Jeff McCulloh, on the other hand, has a beautiful noncombatant one mounted in a bar which is BRONZE, with an excellent patina to it. Anbody else seen one like this?

I am glad you showed us one of those. I knew they existed but have never seen one before. Actually they must be VERY rare, because Nimmergut lists them (made of bronze) in his catalogue, but just mentions an asterisk instead of a price. The combattant version made of bronze is in there for € 51.-

Concerning the " Kriegshilfekreuz " , this is the actual front and its correctly mounted on this bar !!!!

There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding this lowely valued ( and almost non appreciated ) award => there is a axcellent article about this award " Kriegshilfekreuz " in the yearbook from the BDOS ( Bund Deutsche Ordensammler => i can recommend it to anyone who is interested in this award )
