    Wwi U-boat Manufacturers

I have a couple of WWI U-Boat badges that are maker marked and I can't identify the makers. Any assistance would be appreciated.

    SECOND BADGE

Here is the marking on the second badge. Looks like it might be Meybauer, but I am not sure.

They both look like Meybauer to me.

Could we see a good clear shot of the obverse?

Second badge is a Meybauer piece, not sure on the first one, it appears to be from a different die set.

                THE FIRST BADGE

You are correct that the first badge is an entirely different badge struck from a different die. I just can't identify the firm that made the badge. I also have a Walter Schot and it is close in design and weight as the Meybauer badge at 22.0 grams. (See below)

Could we see a picture of the complete reverse of the fist badge. I am guessing it is of 20's or 30's production.

                    REVERSE

Reverse of the first badge. This badge has a nice heavy fire gilt finish.

                      THE "C" CATCH

Here is a scan showing the different catches on each badge.

Hi Bill, how's things? Still in contact with Mr Olivier?

Very nice u-boat bagdes! I'm fairly sure the first one you've post has what I see as the typical Meybauer shaped pin.. wide at the top.

                          Very rare items in deed!

Thanks for you opinion. If a Meybauer it is a later version than the second badge. It is entirely different than the other badge. Do you think the logo is a smaller version than the other?

I haven't corresponded with Tony for awhile. I need to give him a ring or drop him an Email.
