    WW1 Turkish made Iron Cross

I was told a long time ago that the Turkish during WW1 made WW1 iron crosses for the German. Is this ture?

    Turkish Iron Crosses

I have also heard of these, from someone on another forum. But he has never seen one, (and he is a Turk). Neither have I for that matter. I asked a dealer who specializes in Imperial German items, & he has never heard of them either, but said that there are lots of things he's never heard of out there.

If there are any, I'd like to know how one could even verify it as being real. The quality would no doubt be much lower than the home grown varieties. How could you tell it from one that someone made in his garrage in Riga?

Having said all of that, I know that there were Iron Crosses made in Japan during WW2, for the German military personnel stationed there. So anything is possible, I guess.

If it could be prooven to be real, though, I'd like to have on for my collection. Sorry I can't be more helpfull.

I've seen some EK IIs with very strange, actually ugly core design. One used to belong to Liman v. Sanders (who was in Turkey from 1913-1918), the other one was mounted on a medal bar with also a silver Liyakat Medal and some other decorations. I believe these are Turkish made Iron Crosses.

Sorry, I cannot post pictures here ...
