This rather interesting item came my way, so I thought I'd plonk it on the Imperial Forum to see if any further information is forthcoming. It appears to be some sort of fiftieth anniversary of government commemorative, issued by the City of Bückeburg - 8th May, 1857. And rather nice it is too. The medal is bronze and is 59mm in diameter.

Tony: It's not an "official" medal, but certainly as well made as one. Addressed to their Prince, it looks like the sort of thing that was given to him in gold and probably sold to locals in silver, bronze etc as Jubilee tokens.
Prince (Fürst) Georg Wilhelm was born 20 December 1784 and died 21 November 1860.Comment
