A recent pick up for me. While not nameable, this combination was awarded just 66 times.

          Hi Don!

If referring to my 5-place bar-

After the 1938 Anschluss Austria became apart of the German Reich and her awards and decorations were no longer considered Foreign awards. We know this is a post 1938 bar due to the Sudetenland medal...so just wondered at the placement of the Austrian Military Merit Order in 3rd Place!

Maybe by regulation they weren't foriegn any longer but tell that to the guy that put this bar together. Just because it was written didn't make it so in everyones eyes.

                Pierce,

Bars were still put together with Austrian valor awards placed after even WWII German campaign medals. Austrian awards come after German. Doesn't make sense, but the evidence is there. Here is another example.

Don, that Saxon bar is superb and a pre-34 to boot! Steve

Borzadow, to be honest, I think this one looks a bit strange and I feel not confident with it. The sewing of the ribbon is odd, the reverse felt looks rather new and... are there traces of glue on the ribbon's reverse?!

No, thats not a glue - thats some kind of abrasion (on photo it looks strange, thats true, but in real it looks ok). I bought it from a trusty dealer so I've got no fear with that one.
