Hey! Didn't that dealer have another one with about half as many ribbons, one weird big swords device covering both Turkish ribbons? MUST have belonged to the same officer!!!

                    Hi Guys,

nothing really exiting, but I just purchased this small one at German eBay.
                    EK2 1870
                    Long service award
                    !870/71 medal
                    Centenary medal

                        Ahhhhh, BUT...

                        WHY is it not "exciting?"

The wearer was in UNIFORM to have this "old style" ribbon bar as...

                        an OFFICER.

                        BUT!

Where are his Orders? -- It is 1897, at least. So 27+ years of service, whether regular, reserve, or Landwehr.

                        NO Orders?

                        or....

                        moved up to COMMANDER grades?

                          Hi Rick,

also my idea, either a Landwehr guy who got nothing between 1871 and 1897 (there are guys like that in the 1900 ranklist; only EK and LD1) or a General having now his usual red bird and crown around the neck.
But what I wonder is, that he wore no 25 jubilee clasp on the EK ribbon and also no 1870/71 campaign bars.

                          Best regards

                          Daniel

                            Hi Guys,

                            I think I have a lucky month.
This time I picked up a nice Abvarian:

My Bavarian sources are very thin. I suspect a retired Maj/ LtCol who got nothing else Bavarian than the King Ludwig cross in WW1.

                              Here the reverse:
