Since there seems to be more than passing interest in W.W.I vet's organizations, here's one for the guys who galloped around Africa. Made and marked by the Wiedmann firm in Frankfurt.

Do you have an idea of what period this dates to? It is a clear, "modern" looking design and from that, my first guess would be post-WW2, when these elderly gents were still vigorous and fairly plentiful.
Aesthetically, it is much more pleasing than those 1920s elephants and lions and be-curlicued sorts of badges. -
Hey I recognixze that pin! Isn't it from the famous Pedro Polakoff collection?
I think the Bavarian medal bar is still out there.
