Iron Crown

On Glenn's site I read about the Iron Crown order. I was especially amazed to see that the 1st 2nd and 3rd class were numbered (20, 30 and 50 recipients). Were this numbers abandoned later?

Where could I readmore about the Order of the Iron Crown's history? Is there any basic literatur, or even a publication of the Matrikel?
