While discussing St Michael Orden ... Hauptmann Kramme and his awards

    Rick, et al,

Can someone provide any additional information for an Oberlentnant Kramme, who was a Regiment ??? in 2 ??? Infanterie Regiment No 47 in 1910, and was still serving in IR No47 in March 1916? Know awards (to me!) are the St Michael Orden 4 Klasse (Nov 1910, no swords) and Hamburg Hanseatic Cross (March 1916). Any help with his career or additional awards would be appreciated.

    Regards
    Mike K

God, that poor guy's broken up group has travelled!

I have xeroxes of different documents from 2 different "current" owners... 20 years apart... in my files.

Nothing to add to the above though, unless a xerox of a bit you don't have!

Hamburg Hanseatic Cross from my files May 1981 (awarded as Hauptmann in Inf Rgt 147 31 May 1916), and from April 2001 (one of our Forums members) xerox of an early war photo. (Think a young, rather slim Alfred Hitchcock). I know I've got another award document xerox but can't lay my hands on it... it may be in "ancient correspondence" rather than Reference Files.

I also saw Kramme's 1897 Centenary document about 2+ years ago at the Union, NJ militaria show.

When contacted back in Reagan Year 1, the then owner had ALL Kramme's documents, commissions, etc 1895 into WW2.

            Hello Mike.
The document to the Hohenzoller, the cross and a portrait photo (a copy) pertaining to Hptm. Kramme, are in my collection. Purchased a few years ago at the Louisville, Kentucky militaria show. At that time other documents of him were available through another dealer there but not obtained by me (to my regret).
Rick L. remembered this officer after so many years. Ah: wish my memory would work that well !!
